The coffee shops earning my loyalty

A latte on a wooden table beside a notebook

I have opinions about coffee shops the way some people have opinions about football teams. It’s not really about the coffee (though the coffee matters). It’s about whether a place lets you sit for three hours with one drink and a laptop without side-eyeing you, whether the music is doing too much, and whether there’s a window seat worth fighting for.

Current standings, subject to change without notice: one spot in Capitol Hill for the mornings I need to actually focus, one in Ballard for the mornings I don’t, and a third that I’m not going to name because it’s already busy enough.

Full list and neighborhood breakdown coming to the Seattle page. Send me your favorites, I’m always taking submissions.

Every city has a place that makes you feel like a local before you actually are one. This is mine.
