Amsterdam in four days

Canal houses in Amsterdam at golden hour

Four days is a strange amount of time for a city like Amsterdam. Too short to see everything, long enough that you start to feel like you live there, which is honestly the better outcome anyway.

I spent day one intentionally jet-lagged and wandering with no plan, which I now think is the correct way to arrive anywhere. Day two was a rented bike and a very sore, very worth it set of legs. Day three was a museum I won’t spoil, and a canal-side dinner that ran three hours longer than planned. Day four I just repeated whatever had felt best so far, which is my actual rule for the last day of any trip.

The full itinerary, with the specific bakery you should not skip, is on the Travel page.
